[After a few moments of silence, an alarm on her phone goes off.]

--Ah! That's the other batch of cookies I have in the oven... I'll be right back, okay?

Alright. I'll try not to eat all of the first batch while you're gone.

[She chuckles a bit before disentangling herself and standing up. She flashes Goro a smile as she wanders off towards the kitchen.]

[By the time she gets back, his wings are gone and he's sitting more normally on the couch with the first plate of cookies in his lap. He hasn't eaten all of them, but the pile is visibly reduced.]

[She's relieved to see it, honestly. Her relief is evident as she sits back down next to him, putting the second plate of cookies on her own lap.

Although, hm, the wings are gone. That's interesting.]

I have to say, I'm glad this particular recipe's a hit with you.

[She's going to have to keep an eye out for cocoa powder in the next Fissure.]

Chocolate isn't my biggest weakness, but it is up there.

I'm guessing that'd be strawberries?

[She's got to look up more recipes with those, she swears.]

You caught me. Especially with a little bit of sugar or whipped cream.

Well, I mean, that is the best way to enjoy them...

... But chocolate-covered is pretty close, I think. [Punctuated with a sagely nod!]

I can't say I haven't coveted the chocolate fountain in my timeline's version of Leblanc's attic for that very reason.

Who knows, maybe we'll find one in the next Fissure.

[She's going to be looking, that's for sure.]

That would be nice...but we'd also have to keep an eye out for chocolate. It seems a little unlikely that we'd find one pre-filled and clean enough to eat out of.

We'd have to be very lucky, yes. We're going to a city next, though, right? I'd say our chances of finding one and chocolate are better than they would've been with the last Fissure.

Depending on the state of what's there, anyway. But as long as there's no particularly destructive wildlife, the nonperishables should still be usable.

[... Give her a moment, she's reaching over for one of the cookies from the first plate with a grin.]

I guess we'll see when we get there. I have to admit... I'm looking forward to it.

[It probably helps she's expecting things this time.]

Some of them can be fun. I especially enjoy looking all over and seeing what I can find that's slipped in from other worlds.

That does sound like it's the most fun part of the whole thing.

Though, I did enjoy that last one for other reasons. I'd say I'm pretty decent at swimming, but it's an entirely different experience when it's something your body is really built for. I'm really glad I got to keep that form, since I think I'd just feel clumsy by comparison, trying to swim as a human.

Ah, I wasn't so lucky...

[Her chuckle's a bit sheepish, and so's her expression as she admits the next part.]

Although, admittedly, I do prefer being able to keep my legs. And I don't like the idea of having to re-learn swimming with a tail all over again if I didn't use it for a long time...
