[He's...maybe turning a little pink at the evidence that Yuya's read the food blog. Whyyyy...]

Not just the food blog, I'm also a local celebrity as a teenage detective. And that's not quite how I'd phrase it, but pretty damn close.

[Yuya laughs enthusiastically as he lowers his hands. Honestly, he'd probably read a blog that sounded like a bubbly teenage gangster.]

A teenage detective... like, you really solve crimes?

I do. I even work closely with a public prosecutor...though, obviously I'm on leave right now. My bosses aren't big enough assholes to make me work on cases from a different fucking country.

[So he probably has even less room to speak up if he disagrees with an older detective how things are going. Still...]

That's really cool, helping catch criminals like that. It's like you've been helping keep people safe for a while.

[Since it's the whole point of Daybreak and all: to be ready to fight Nightfall and keep people safe. No wonder he fits right in.]

[Keep them safe...haha, yes, and absolutely not be part of the problem. He rubs the back of his head, putting on a modest smile.]

I do my best, at least. When I'm not bogged down by too damn much paperwork.

I think that's really admirable. [He smiles brightly, honest in his assessment. He scratches his cheek, his gaze drifting sideways shyly.] It's the kind of thing I want to learn here--er, not being a detective. Just saving people.

It's hard work, but it is satisfying. And who knows, we have literal fucking magic, maybe that'll make it easier.

Right. [Yuya nods, stuffing his hands in his pockets.] Well, since I dropped him off I'll let you get back to what you were doing.

[He leans over to peer at the smaller Akechi.] Don't eat too much at once, okay? There's more where all of that came from!

[...The smaller Akechi pauses in shoving a muffin into his mouth, then nods sheepishly.]
