... Maybe if I had more than just this one. Only having half the set wouldn't feel right, you know?

[All this noise has caught the attention of Goro's Mimikyu, who squeaks from his feet. A second squeak prompts him to pick her up and put her in his lap so she can see.]

Speaking of names, she has one now. Her name is Yaeki.

Oh! Yaeki, huh? That's cute.

[She beams as Bedb caws in greeting to the Mimikyu.]

[And Yaeki squeaks in response!]

It's the name of a figure in a famous painting of a female ghost, and Marla says this particular species is probably ghost type. I'm not quite sure how a ghost hatches from an egg, but...

Yeah, that is a little... odd.

[At least the bird makes sense.]

Then again, Marla-chan did hatch a candle from an egg...

... Maybe trying to apply logic to Pokemon isn't the best idea.

Probably not. It might be safest to assume that 'ghost' in that world applies to anything with similar properties, even if it's an actually physical being.

I'm not sure yet what her ghost-like properties might be, but I'm sure I'll figure out what she's capable of eventually.

I'm sure she'll be fascinating to observe, at any rate.

I'm just glad she's mild tempered, since she also seems a little desperate for attention.

It might be better if we both took our pets outside, if we get a day that isn't miserable.

It probably won't for a few more weeks. Based on how the local calendar translates to the one we're used to, it's early August.

Time needs to go faster so autumn can get here faster.

At least the mines should be cool, if not...the best place for birds.

Yeah... I'm probably gonna ask one of the androids to take care of her while we're there...

That's what I've been doing with Morrigan and Mao. I think I'll leave Yaeki behind, too. I don't know enough about what she can do to be sure if she'll be helpful or just in danger.
